My daughter attended a pottery camp at Seattle Artist League in Georgetown last week and had the best time. The instructor was amazing. Love the space! I can’t say enough great things about this place. We will be back for more classes.

I have taken two classes so far (beginning drawing and beginning figure drawing) and I thoroughly enjoyed both. I have a background in visual art, but haven't practiced in about 20 years. The instructors were very helpful and supportive. I got to brush up on skills I had long forgotten and felt inspired to try new things. What I enjoyed the most was the focus on actively doing the work. Each class began with a short lecture and reference slides, but ultimately the class was about putting drawings on the page. I learn best by doing and this school provides that environment.

I love taking classes at the Seattle Artist League and while I have taken their drawing and painting classes, I am new to ceramics. I just finished an Introduction to Handbuilding class, and enjoyed it so much I had to sign up for another class. The facility is great and the open studio hours are fantastic but the true value of classes at the League is the community of people you get to come in and create with. Every time I go in for open studio or class I see someone I have seen before. Art doesn’t happen in a vacuum, working with others really elevates the creativity and that’s what keeps me coming back!

I’ve been taking pottery classes at Seattle Artist League since January, and I cannot recommend it enough. Every instructor I’ve had has been amazing, they’re so knowledgeable and helpful. I had never taken a wheel throwing class before I started here, and they make it easy to pick up quickly. When I need a mental break from the demands of life, I can pop in for open studio any day of the week to work on things. The atmosphere is so friendly and if you want to chat and make friends, it’s easy to do so. If you want to clear your head and zone into the wheel and listen to music, that’s an option too and no one will bug ya! I just can’t say enough good things about SAL.

I really enjoyed my oil painting class with Siobhan. She opened each class with visual examples and explanation of our assignments. This was presented in a brief slideshow of masterwork from various artists, which I appreciated- as a visual learner. The instructions for the classes were clear and the instructor was supportive and very helpful. I highly recommend taking classes from Seattle Artist League based on my firsthand experience.
