Sunset Cliffs is an absolute must-see if you're visiting San Diego like we were! The views are stunning, the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs is incredibly peaceful, and it just gives you that “wow” feeling—like you’re literally standing on the edge of America. And there were a bunch of surfers in the water which was cool to watch! There are some steep areas along the cliffs, which wasn’t an issue for us since we're from Colorado and used to a little hiking, but something to keep in mind if you’re not as steady on your feet. I even carried my dog in a couple of spots just to be safe—but totally worth it for the experience. Our Uber took us through the nearby college campus (which apparently is a common thing according to campus security), and it ended up being a really scenic little walk in. There are benches and picnic spots where people relax and take in the view—it’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the natural beauty of the coast. Relaxing, breathtaking, and unforgettable—definitely don’t miss Sunset Cliffs! They do have ports potties for the bathroom if needed. It was not crowded on the Sunday we went. Make sure when driving drive slow as the roads are pretty intense.

Beautiful spot with so much potential! Even though the sun wasn’t setting and it was a bit cloudy, Sunset Cliffs was still stunning. The dramatic cliffs and ocean views are breathtaking, and you can easily imagine how magical it must be during a proper sunset.

Always a great place to watch the sun set or just to walk up and down the sidewalk along the ocean.
