The Grand Theatre is a Salt Lake City classic. It’s old school so may not have all the bells and whistles of a modern theater but it has character in spades. Orchestra/main floor seating has excellent legroom and solid views. Sound is pretty good for an old venue. Staff are friendly. Parking is free and easily accessible.

Show was great, seats themselves not so much. We had upper balcony seating. The leg room was about 6 inches. Everyone around us was squished with about the same. We had to sit sideways the whole time. If we go again we will avoid the upper balcony

A small theatre for productions with a lot of history. The crew is very helpful. They are willing to work around your needs, granted it is a costly affair so ensure you do not have any COVID-19 restrictions so you can pack the house.

Attended Eclipse 6. Show was great, but enjoyment of the show was unfortunately impacted by the horrible balcony seats. I'm less than 6' and my knees were 4" into the back of the next row. Every row appeared to be the same. Ridiculous.

The leg room is seriously amazing in this theater and the main reason to get yourself to a show here. Holy cannoli! My long-legged husband could stretch out and didn't even have to get up when we needed to let people get to their seats on the other side of us. It's a fun atmosphere and the remodel is pretty cool. We enjoyed our experience here!

How accessible and comfortable is The Grand Theatre?
When planning a meetup, comfort and accessibility are critical, and The Grand Theatre makes significant efforts in these areas, though there are a few factors to consider. The seating is described as comfortable with good sight lines, allowing everyone in your group to have a clear view of the screen or stage. The environment is kept cool and pleasant, making long events more enjoyable. However, some attendees have noted that the chairs can be somewhat small and not as accommodating for larger or mobility-challenged guests, which is worth keeping in mind if your group has specific accessibility needs. The lobby area, while cozy and conducive to socializing, can become crowded during popular shows, and the shared restrooms in the lobby demand some maneuvering in busy times. Parking is typically available on nearby streets or lots, but there isn’t always parking immediately adjacent to the building, so arriving early is advisable. Overall, the theatre balances a nostalgic atmosphere and service focus with some spatial limitations, but most groups find it a largely comfortable environment for a shared outing.
What makes the food and concession experience unique at The Grand Theatre?
The food and concessions at The Grand Theatre add a special touch to any group outing. Unlike many large cinemas where concession stands are often expensive and overwhelming, here you’ll find a selection of snacks and drinks offered at reasonable prices, enhancing accessibility for all budgets. The popcorn is frequently praised for its quality and freshness, making it a classic complement to the viewing experience. While concession lines can sometimes be long during sold-out events, the staff handles service with professionalism and good humor, helping to maintain an enjoyable atmosphere. The opportunity to grab snacks and coffee in the lobby before or during intermission fosters a comforting communal vibe where your group can relax and chat. This approachable and friendly concession service ensures your meetup feels complete, combining entertainment with tasty treats without breaking the bank.

What are some tips for planning your meetup at The Grand Theatre?
To maximize your group’s enjoyment at The Grand Theatre, consider a few planning tips. First, since the theatre can get packed during popular shows, booking tickets in advance is strongly recommended to ensure your entire party sits together and avoids disappointment. Arrive early to allow time for parking on nearby streets and to comfortably navigate the lobby before the show starts, which also gives you a better chance to socialize and grab concessions before lines grow. If your group includes members with mobility challenges, contact the theatre ahead to inquire about seating accommodations or assistance, as some seating may be tight. Planning for a meetup during less crowded weeknights or matinee shows can enhance comfort and ease of movement. Finally, leveraging the theatre’s website or social channels to check current programming and special events will help tailor your outing to your group’s tastes, creating a memorable and hassle-free experience.
