I imagine the place gets livelier at night, especially since it seems more of a night spot, but the daytime vibe was very chill. Our server was super friendly and welcoming. The drinks were really good though I did feel like they weren’t very strong in terms of alcohol content. Still, they were well made and tasted great. I also ordered a burrito bowl, and the food was surprisingly good. The atmosphere is fun and laid-back, and I think it would be a great spot to go back to in the evening for a livelier vibe. Since today was a Sunday, I expected it to be a bit busier, but it was very calm. All in all, I had a great experience!!!

The best J1 bar – in the Heart of NYC! The Mean Fiddler is hands down the best Irish bar in New York — no messing. I’ve done three J1s in the city, and this place was always the go to. The tunes, the atmosphere , the crowd were always great. Landed a job here on my last J1 and honestly, I was absolutely buzzing. The staff are super friendly, (proper legends) and the atmosphere is always hopping. Whether you’re just in for a pint, some grub, or a mad one, the vibes are always 90 and your always bound to have a good night. The food is 10/10 , the drinks are spot on, and the whole place just has that deadly Irish buzz. If you’re over in New York, you have to call in. Couldn’t recommend it more. Don’t walk ….
