Moved over here in 2018 from Tomahawk Island Marina. The difference? Plenty. First, boat slips on the south side of the island off the channel are plagued with horrific currents most time of the year. I have seen dozens of boats- primarily sail, which are notorious for prop walk and inability to produce power on demand from their small outboards and inboard diesels, get caught backing up, getting caught in the current, and slamming into nearby objects. I myself experienced this in 2017 after watching two others crash, decided I could do better, then proceeded to do the exact thing. Lesson learned. Anyways, the current on the north side of the island is much more protected, and you don't have whitecaps lapping at your broadsides. That being said, the facilities are excellent at Tomahawk Bay. Prices are cheaper and it just seems a lot more relaxed. Never had issues on D dock. Have not heard of any security issues on an island besieged by transients, meth scavengers, and degenerates. Concrete docks, full amperage blocks, and storage bins. Plus you have the Island Sailing Club nearby on D dock if you need any advice or just want to stop in and say hello to their excellent staff.

I called Tomahawk Bay Marina, as I’m now paying two marinas… and they agreed to adjust my move in date, despite being able to take advantage of the situation.
