Great place. Although I wish more was being done, this the only community center that I've seen on the lower east side that is actually doing anything with and for the community. They have a carnival for the kids just before summer with free food, juice, popcorn, cotton candy, bouncy houses, music and even a magician. I have attended with my children 2 years in a row. I have also participated in other activities that they have invited the community to as well.

The community center has been a blessing. They gave my youngest child a free summer camp and picked her up every day for after school. My 14 year old son loves the teen program they have at night. They also have free adult programs, carnivals, GED classes, the list goes on. Anytime someone has a problem, they go above and beyond to offer any assistance they can. I just want to thank everyone at University Settlement especially the team they put at Campos Plaza.

The gym is a voting site for all the Elections. Meanwhile, the after school program operates merrily nearby... The overhead air conditioning is incredibly loud but effective, making communication difficult - when turned off, everyone looks around, like, did the earth stand still?

I started Pre-K here at the age of Three in 1981, and continued to go there during Grade School for after school program. I also attended the Summer Camps there until the age of Fourteen. This is a Great Place to start your Children off, in my opinion!!
