I’ve been mountain biking with a cross-country hardtail for nearly 12 years, and in all honestly, some of my fondest memories are on the biking trails or the sights it has taken me to. As my endurance and riding skills improved, I realized I wanted a full-suspension setup to tackle more technical terrain and features with greater control and confidence. The Tallboy 5, specifically the CC X01, caught my eye at the bike shop due to its impressive geometry and use of high-end components, amount of front and rear travel, lightweight CC carbon frame, and, most importantly, price point. These upgrades were huge compared to my previous ride. Additionally, when the bicycle shop owners shared with me about Santa Cruz's lifetime warranty on both the frame and its bearings - it gave me the peace of mind that I needed for a big-ticket item. While some cyclists enjoy the ritual of getting a new bike every year, I anticipate that this will likely be my last new bike purchase. Therefore, it was important for me to find a bike that I could enjoy in most terrains and one that I could service for my lifetime. Had an axel stuck on my set of inline skates and I knew of this bike shop and decided to see if they could help. I got quoted $50 to drill out the bolt and told it might take a few days to get to. An hour later I get a text saying it is done and they stayed after close for me to come pick it up. The charge ended up being only $27 and they even sourced the exact replacement online for me so I could order it. Super appreciative of the fast clean work and would definitely bring my bike here for service in the future if i start riding again.
