Pros: Great location being near the middle of NYC,great professor with its small classroom sizes, friendly staff, and amazing dorms with no communal bathrooms. Cons: Fordham at Lincoln Center is basically high school 2.0 or a real-life episode of Victorious with its emphasis on Music and Arts. You even will find people singing in the middle of the hallways thinking they’re going to be the next Broadway star. The facilities and interior feel like a high school in the city with everything being in one building that hasn’t been renovated since the 60s. Very small gym with free weights only going up to 50 pounds (as a weightlifter that is embarrassing) and lackluster machines. Not to mention the division between the commuters and residents at LC is massive that there is no social interaction between the two. Every opportunity is given to the residents leaving commuters in the dust. There is a social hierarchy that is developed since the first day as well that makes me feel like I’m in high school again. Lack of clubs at the school. No student discount unlike John Jay (which is a CUNY only 3 blocks down )that has a student discount for some restaurants and even public transportation discount ( tours guides will say that broadway tickets are discounted for Fordham LC students that A LIE DO NOT BELIEVE THEM ) . Overall tuition isn’t justified at this school, but if you really want to attend Fordham, go to Rose Hill; it will give you 100 times better experience than Fordham at Lincoln Center. People dress like they’re going to a fashion show as well, as if it feels illegal to wear just a hoodie and sweatpants. Also, the food is bad as well. Horrible internet connection during peak hours that cost 500 dollars as part in the tuition

I did masters in social work at Fordham. The value you get here compared to other schools is questionable. I also had issues with administration, particularly their lack of flexibility and support. During my second-to-last semester, I had ACL surgery, which required me to be on crutches for four weeks. Due to my long subway commute, I requested to attend classes via Zoom for that period—especially since all classrooms were already equipped for remote access in the early post-COVID days. The director of disability services denied my request, stating my only option was to take a medical leave—meaning I would lose both my tuition and a semester’s worth of work—if I couldn’t attend in person. This lack of accommodation was both disappointing and frustrating

I graduated in 1999 on the Lincoln Center stage from Fordham University with my masters degree and social work and I had been on that stage as a highschooler in chorus and it was a honor to be on that stage and an honor to be a proud Ram Fordham graduate.
