I was granted a loan through the city and worked with NeighborWorks to get the necessary renovations done on my home but during the months that have followed I found out that one of the renovation repairs that was done which was for a new garbage disposal. Stopped working just 3 months after it was replaced as part of the renovations. I reached out to NeighborWorks to see if they can get this corrected by sending someone out to look at the garbage disposal but after an initial promise that someone will be following up with me they have since been MIA and unwilling to send someone out to address the issue. I feel grateful for the renovations but untrusting of NeighborWorks as a company when it comes to following up and ensuring that the loan recipients are receiving the highest quality workmanship available. Feels like an overall scam or catch 22.

UPDATE on my last review: Since writing my last review below, they have splattered concrete all over the side of our house and refused to fix it; they obviously do not care about their reputation. When we asked them to fix it, their construction manager, Bob Lund, suggested we try a wet towel, to wipe off dried concrete--the most disrespectful organization, they should not have nonprofit status. I have also attached a picture of the concrete splatter, if they ever try to build in your neighborhood, do everything in your power to stop them. For a community developments nonprofit, they sure did not communicate with ANY of the community members for this project. This “community development” “nonprofit” is a shame. The mission statements of Neighborworks SLC is is “Salt Lake Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS), DBA as NeighborWorks® Salt Lake (NWSL), builds on the strengths of neighborhoods, creating opportunities through housing, resident leadership, youth and economic development. We work in partnership with residents, government and businesses to build and sustain neighborhoods of choice.” I honestly do not know how this organization has its nonprofit status. this “nonprofit” did not work with our community; no one in our neighborhood wants the house they are building, especially not my neighbor nor I, since it will decrease the values of both of our homes, you can see from the picture how close they are building to our house. Our bedrooms and bathrooms are on that side, so this "Community Development House" will take away all of our privacy. This nonprofit does not build communities, it destroys them; they are looking to turn a quick profit on this project and that is it, while devaluing two neighbors’ homes in the process. As per your mission statement, your “nonprofit” did not work with the community, nor get their input. Our community is not okay with this. We, the community are going to dedicate the next couple of months to fighting this project in anyway that we can; because this is so wrong, especially for a “nonprofit” to do.

Terrible organization, they do not work with the community at all. They are more concerned with making a profit than working with the community on projects that will benefit everyone, not just neighborWorks Salt Lake. When I complained they spitefully put a porta potty directly in my view and as close to my property as they could. Their construction manager is incredibly rude and talks down to people. See my comment for the picture.
