CHECK YOUR CARD STATEMENT after staying here!!! I've been here many times as a guest of different conventions during the day over the past 20 years, but my most recent visit was also my first overnight stay here. I was here for 1 night, to attend a special event on the evening of August 23rd, and my room was covered by the host of the event. Everything was fine during our stay, our room was clean and comfortable. Like any hotel would, they took my card for incidentals at check in, in case we stole something from the room or damaged property. They also asked if we were self parking or valet (and I hate valet so I said definitely self parking) and they gave us a voucher we could use to scan out of their parking area for a lower rate than their standard rate-- great! I was happy. However, 4 days later, I see on my credit card statement that the $90 (which I assumed was the initial hold in case of incidentals) had actually posted to my credit card! We called the hotel twice and after talking to multiple people in the phone tree, they ultimately said it's probably just the hold and to call back if it is still on my statement the following week. I contacted my bank to see if I could get more details and my bank said to contact the hotel again. Fast forward another week -- it is now two weeks since my stay -- we call again since the charge still says posted, and ONLY THEN did they say it was a charge for their valet parking ($45 per day, for a total of $90!), which we didn't use and which I expressly told them at check in we wouldn't be using!! This brings to mind several questions, including-- How many people have been scammed out of $90 by a false valet charge? Why couldn't they see that they charged me $90 for valet the first two times we called? How did they charge us for valet when I told them we absolutely would not be using valet? The most recent update I have is that they said they will be charging back the money to my account, but that will likely take another week. 🫠 I will update this review to let y'all know after I get my $90 back. This situation turned an otherwise perfectly fine and normal hotel stay into an additional 2 weeks of stress, annoyances, and frustrations for both me and my husband as we tried to figure out what this charge was about and contact the hotel to get it resolved. $90 might not be much to some people, but it's quite a lot of money for us and certainly not an expense we were expecting. There is no reason that $90 should have been applied to my account to begin with, and frankly it has created a culture of distrust for me for the future with this hotel. I think this is a shame since I was actually impressed at the beginning of my stay-- They put a lot of work into the bells and whistles up front but I'm very annoyed and frustrated with how they handled charging me for an expense I did not owe them, and leaving the responsibility on me to follow up with them multiple times to actually get an answer (and presumably eventually my $90 back). Also, heads up that "room with a view" just means you can see the stadium 😂 Not much of a view to me, but I guess it's still a view to someone! The most impressive part of my stay was having my name on the TV screen when we came in-- but again, this charge situation ruined any positivity I had towards this hotel stay. Posted are screenshots of the charges to my card (the $15 is for our self parking, which I expected!), the conversation between my husband and I from our calls, the TV screen when we arrived, and the "view" from our window of our room.

The Hotel and the staff was great, Miss Nashville at the coffee counter is awesome, coffee is great. All of the other ladies and employees working the desk and other parts of the hotel were exceptional. Rooms were large and clean. Be sure to bring any and all snacks you may need as everything the hotels offers, which is a vast amount, but very pricey. Vincent in the bar was an excellent example of a bartender who understands their craft, great job and drinks. The valet service was questionable, the employees look a bit sketchy and the fees are expensive for parking, so don’t bring a vehicle or rent a vehicle as you will pay out the nose for parking. If you try to avoid fees they will call your vehicle to get towed regardless of your ADA status. I wish the valet service could appear a bit more professional, appearance, dress, and hair. They literally look like neighborhood gangsters I see I downtown. I look forward to going back sometime.

Tameka Nichole at the Renaissance Waverly is a shining example of the "old school" Marriott way of outstanding customer service. She upheld corporate policy while also adding the ever important human touch, exemplifying going above and beyond, and following through and following up the same day. We are loyal customers and had an extenuating circumstance that she handled with professionalism and grace. I hope you all nominate her for Associate of the Month at a minimum. Tameka - you made my day and restored my faith in hospitality and customer service and because of that you have retained a large group of loyal customers. THANK YOU.

Great place to stay when attending a convention. The rooms were clean and well furnished. The concierge lounge attendant was very attentive and friendly. The restraumtnst were good. Juliana at the Atrium Cafe was the best server I have encountered in some time. So many places to get snacks or quick meals. The staff has always been helpful and professional.

We were in town for a 3-day wrestling tournament at the Galleria Centre and needed a hotel close by. We originally booked a stay at (Another horrible hotel) the Embassy Suites, but after checking in, we realized it was a total disaster—strong mold smell, outdated rooms, and even after being moved to two different rooms, the conditions were the same. Thankfully, we were able to get a full refund and started scrambling to find another hotel for our 4-night stay. We were SO BLESSED to come across the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel—what a difference! From the moment we walked in, everything felt clean, fresh, and well-managed. The entire hotel smelled amazing, and even with heavy foot traffic from the convention and tournament, the public bathrooms stayed spotless. The attention to detail here is unmatched. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ The staff was incredible—every time we called guest services or stopped by the front desk, they greeted us by name and were genuinely helpful and attentive. Huge shoutout to housekeeping as well; our room was immaculate every single day. You can tell management here knows exactly what they’re doing. And to top it all off, the location couldn’t have been more convenient—there’s a direct walk-through into the Galleria Centre, which made getting to and from the tournament super easy. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you’re staying in this area, don’t waste your time anywhere else—just book here. Thank you to the Renaissance team for making our stay so smooth and enjoyable! 🤩💖✨ (I wish I could add my videos, I was only able to add screenshots from the videos, pics don’t do it justice! Beautiful here!)
