Here's what people think of Safeway
As of recent, Safeway holds a 3.9-star rating based on 2152 reviews.
Users of Safeway generally appreciate the extensive product variety and convenience that the stores offer, as well as the availability of specialty departments like pharmacies and in-store coffee shops. Positive reviews often highlight the store’s fresh bakery items, well-stocked shelves, and the convenience of combined services such as fuel stations and pharmacies, which help customers accomplish multiple errands in one stop. Customers also note the helpfulness of staff and the pleasant store environment as contributors to a satisfying shopping experience. However, negative reviews frequently mention issues related to customer service delays, occasional product stock inconsistencies, and perceived pricing concerns. Some reviews point out unresolved complaints and dissatisfaction with the response times to customer issues, which is reflected in the Better Business Bureau rating where Safeway is not accredited and has received a number of complaints over recent years. In conclusion, Safeway remains a reliable supermarket choice favored for its comprehensive offerings and community presence, although it faces challenges in consistently addressing certain customer service and operational concerns.

Come on Safeway, nobody likes locked freezer cases. I decided not to buy any seafood instead and bought my frozen shrimp at H mart because they don't lock their freezers. There's not even a call button in sight of this case. Be Better.

This supermarket is located at the basement of a quite historical building (at least old style) near a few famous tourist attractions so it is like a hidden gem for budget travellers & locals. Seafood are almost significantly cheaper than PIKE Place Market. Though the low prices are basically the same as other Safeways, the freshness of crabs I bought wasa bit less than those Safeways in Concord & Napa. Instead of fancy dear restaurants near the Space Needle, cold seafood is the crack for the backpackers to have simple luxury nutritious meal with drinks in their accommodation or in the parks. Here also has lots of inexpensive alcohol for drunkies too.

Who does quality control at this Safeway? The past few times I visited (as it’s the closest grocery store) I have purchased fruit that was not fresh (smelled awful when I opened the package)!!! Also, when I walk down the aisles, I find molded food and outdated meat! See the photos and comparison of the two meats! The homeless thieves make it uncomfortable to shop here! I witnessed a lady walk in, fill her bag and walk straight out without paying. Homeless people live in the parking garage. I drive all the way to Ballard’s Safeway when time permits even though this store is less than two minutes away!

Ah, Upper QA Safeway. You lulled me into a false sense of security. Compared to Lower QA, this place is large, clean, well-staffed. But you'll still get rotten produce if you're not sharp-eyed and suspicious as a granny. I was deceived by this week's BOGO. Beware the Halos! They are green or squishy and rotten.

Pretty decent. No complaints. Although some guy keeps following me. I live in the area, I am a regular. I guess he was loss prevention? I just have to wonder why he picked me to follow. I won't say it's because I'm black because that's corny. There must be another reason. Even after I pay and bag it. He is at the door all of a sudden. They should be less obvious so it doesn't make customers uncomfortable. Nobody really wants to be followed by someone they don't know. But like I said, the store in general is clean and efficient.
