The store has a great selection and very good prices. Unfortunately, the customer service was inconsistent. When I asked one employee if they carried Alcantara, his only response was, “I don’t know what that is,” followed by an awkward silence. I don’t expect every employee to be an expert on all materials/fabrics, but at a minimum I would have appreciated a follow-up question, or for him to check with another team member. Instead, I had to ask him directly if he could do that. Thankfully, another nearby employee stepped in, was knowledgeable, and provided helpful, friendly service—this is the reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. Overall, the selection is solid, but customer service can be hit or miss depending on who helps you.

I went to the Tempe location. They had a great selection of fabrics. This is my 'go to' store when I am buying fabric. They assisted me in my selection. I bought 25 yards of fabric, and they put it onto a bolt for me. I completed the project, and the fabric was perfect! They had fast, friendly service. I am looking forward to going to their Phoenix location to see their selection of fabric and notions.

First time there and I fell in love. This has made me want to learn to sew on a machine. Christopher was amazing with all the tips and tricks to make a tutu. I will definitely be back to explore the store more. A great suggestion would be to offer sewing classes in the future.

While the fabric selection is great and the cashier up front was very friendly, the guys cutting the fabric were in a hurry, barely interacted with us, and quickly tried to move us away from the counter as soon as they noted the yardage—handing us a ticket and telling us to go up front BEFORE they even STARTED cutting. They were intentionally rushing us away which raised some red flags. It makes me wonder if they’re trying to hide flaws, stains, or even short yardage. In my case, I was supposed to get 2 yards, but thanks to my friend staying back and watching, he realized there wasn’t even a full 2 yards on the roll. I was already up front and almost ended up paying full price for fabric I wouldn’t have received in full! Whether this is an issue of poor customer service or something more intentional, it left a bad impression. I’d suggest going to the Tempe location or the SAS Superstore further north if you want a more transparent and courteous experience.
