Stopped in on a Monday afternoon @4 for some well deserved celebratory drinks with my client after a very long road to closing. Upon arrival the place was still a little slow and we opted to sit right at the bar. We both started with Watermelon Frosés as we collectively took a sigh of relief that we finally made it to the finish line. As we sat and chatted we were checked on by a couple of the bartenders who floated around the bar. Neither of us were particularly hungry so we decided on one more cocktail each for the road. My client went with an Espresso Martini for a little “pick me up” and I went with the Running Wild, a recommendation from one of the bartenders. A mix of Bacardi Rum, blackberry syrup, fresh lime juice, mint, splash of club, it reminded me more of a refresher than a cocktail. As we were wrapping up Stout began to get pretty busy and loud. With 2 levels I’m sure they can get packed. Service / Ambiance / Drinks were ok, not sure I will run back but when in the area for future closings I may pop back in. Just A Note: We didn’t see nor were we offered a Happy Hour menu, so not sure if they offer one. Four (4) cocktails with tax and tip (no food) , was just under $100.

I recently hosted a private event at Stout for 25 coworkers, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly, from setting up our private space to helping us customize the menu to fit our group’s needs. The food was delicious and plentiful—everyone raved about the variety and quality, and we ended up with lots of leftovers. Stout was more than happy to provide boxes so we could take the extra food home, which was a thoughtful touch that everyone appreciated. The atmosphere was perfect for a work gathering: lively, comfortable, and private enough for us to enjoy our own conversations without interruptions. The event space felt warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch throughout the evening. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome and took care of every detail, allowing us to relax and enjoy the night. I highly recommend Stout for any private event or group gathering. Their flexibility, excellent food, and outstanding service truly set them apart. We will definitely be back for future events!

Lovely bar! Staff were great. Had brunch with a friend we ordered the the breakfast tatchos and chicken and waffle. The potatoes were great and the guacamole was fresh on the tatchos but there was hardly any sausages there. The sausage was minced and disappeared into the food. So I will not recommend if you are hoping to have breakfast sausage on the tatchos. Chicken and waffles was good but chicken could use some salt. However the meal was cooked great.

Updated Review 7/2025; It seems they really opened up their cocktail options, while still remaining faithful to their beer forward roots! I didn't try any food again, but the service was impeccable and my old fashioned was fantastic. Alba took great care of me while still running around, dealing with other patrons. ------------------------------------ Original review: It was just okay. I only came for a drink while waiting for my train, but the menu seems a little busy. My cocktail (old fashioned) wasn't very good at all, especially since it cost $18, but in their defense, this place is more beer focused. I'd suggest sticking to that or cider if you come.

The staff is super friendly & kind, the place itself is really beautiful inside out. Just wish there was more space between the tables on the outside areas - the food looks so spectacular & tastes just as good as it looks! Drinks are pretty strong & also really tasty. Really good for a casual dinner night, or just to catch up with friends!

What should groups consider when planning their visit to Stout NYC?
While Stout NYC is well-suited for groups, there are a few practical considerations to keep in mind to ensure the best experience. Depending on the location and time, it can get quite busy, especially during major sporting events or weekend brunch hours, so making a reservation or arriving early is advisable for larger parties. The noise level, which contributes to the energetic atmosphere, may pose a challenge if your group prefers quieter conversation; however, this is often tolerable or even welcomed in the context of sports viewing and social buzz. Service speed can vary, occasionally slowing when the venue is full, so patience and planning are important if timing is tight. It’s also helpful to discuss menu or drink preferences ahead, as the extensive beer list and pub offerings might be overwhelming for first-timers, but the knowledgeable staff are usually eager to assist. Finally, understanding that Stout’s food is more about solid, flavorful comfort than fine dining will help set expectations aligned with the casual, fun environment. Taking these points into account will help your group maximize enjoyment when rallying at Stout.
