Everybody in the store is really friendly. But, you know, in a real kind of way. At first, I thought they were being helpful, but as I walked around, I realized they were keeping a close eye on me like they thought I was suspicious. There was a shelf of toys near the cashier, and a lady kept watching me the whole time, following me like she thought I was going to steal something. That really made me feel uncomfortable and judged—especially since I’m just a kid. I didn’t feel welcome at all, and it honestly felt like I was being treated differently because I’m Hispanic. I ended up leaving without buying anything. I don’t think I’ll ever come back. No one should feel watched or judged just for how they look.
